Pathways to Potential

About Community Fale

Community Fale creates safe, inclusive spaces for Pasifika young people aged 15-24. We help youth build confidence, resilience, and life skills while fostering leadership, teamwork, and cultural connection.

Working alongside the Clinic Care Team, we provide holistic support that blends physical, mental, and social wellbeing - empowering youth to feel capable, valued, and ready to make a positive impact in their communities.

As it’s core, Community Fale is a place for talanoa, empowerment, and belonging - a home where young people are encouraged to show up as their full selves.

FOR YOUTH

Community Fale is your third space - a home away from home and study, where you can be you.

Our hub provides a welcoming space for Pasifika young people to connect, study, and unwind away from the noise of everyday life. Whether you’re escaping a busy university or school schedule or looking for a calm space away from home, the Fale is here for you - a place where you can hang out with peers, feel supported, and belong.

Alongside the hub, our Village Collective Clinic offers free, judgement-free health services that make looking after your wellbeing simple and stress-free:

  • Free Health Checks: General and sexual health checks in collaboration with Auckland Sexual Health Services

  • Free Psychologist Sessions: Uncapped and fully funded - because feeling better shouldn’t come with a price tag.

  • Pasifika Care Team: Every clinician and counsellor understands your world and your culture. You’re cared for by your own community.

All services are completely free, confidential, and designed with Pasifika youth in mind
- empowering you to look after your mind, body and spirit without barriers.

FOR COMMUNITIES & PARTNERS

Community Fale thrives through partnership - walking alongside schools, churches, organizations, and community groups who share our vision for empower Pasifika youth. Our outreach brings health, education and connection directly to the community. By working together, we make wellbeing accessible and culturally grounded - meeting our people where they are.

We offer:

  • Outreach Program Delivery: Bringing accessibility with ease, Community Fale is present at as many community events as we can - offering free health checks and immunization drives that protect our people. With a current focus on the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine, we’re ensuring Pasifika communities stay protected and informed against potential outbreaks.
  • Community Health Pop-Ups: Partnering with Auckland Sexual Health Services (ASHS) and our Care Team to provide free health checks, sexual health checks, vaccines and wellbeing support in community settings.
  • Collaborative Events: Working alongside local churches, youth groups, and councils to host activations that stretch our reach and ensure accessible health education for Pasifika youth and their families.

Every partnership is grounded in service, collaboration, and connection. Together, we strengthen the collective wellbeing of our communities - ensuring no young person is left behind.

VOICES FROM THE VILLAGES

“I have recommended the services to others who have also benefitted from the sessions. Again it’s important to understand the context of your clients and I can say that my experience has been great because of this.” - Talavou, 35

“Before we found Village Collective, we had sought help from other health and well-being providers for our daughter. However, these ‘Pakeha-led’ institutions felt uncomfortable and dismissive of what our daughter was experiencing. From our very first meeting, Koni made both our daughter and us feel at ease. Our daughter was finally able to speak and be heard. Koni helped her find her voice, allowing her to express her thoughts, feelings, and emotions.” - Mother of Talavou, 48

“Village Collective is a warm and welcoming space to be in. It allows those attending sessions to relax and not feel as though they are in a sterile, hospital environment.” - Talavou, 21

“Accessibility & Brown. This service is affordable, professional and is friendly on our brown and MVPFAFF+ groups. A service like this is rare” - Talavou, 23

OUR WORK IN ACTION

We’re constantly out in the community—connecting with youth, families, and partners to make wellbeing, education, and health support accessible and culturally grounded.

Recent initiatives include the Lotu Factor Symposium, mental wellbeing workshops with AUPISA, the Manurewa Community Network Wellbeing Expo, Fa’amalu Fanau deliveries across local churches, a Free Dental Day with AUT Oral Health, and supporting the NZRL Secondary School Tournament with free health checks and wellbeing advice.

Together, these activations reflect the heart of Community Fale: being visible, accessible, and present where Pasifika youth are, ensuring wellbeing is part of everyday life—not a luxury.
