Community Fale

Community Fale initiatives are collaborations with likeminded people or organizations on projects that advance Pacific  youth and family health and well-being.

A popular initiative we deliver is Professional Development for teachers, youth workers and social workers engaging Pasifika rainbow young people. Young people are still developing their communication skills, so the teacher or facilitator needs to be equipped to recognise the non-verbal cues and potentially what is shaping the young persons current worldview.

An innovative community initiative we launched in 2020 is Matua ma Talavou - an intergenerational project connecting old people with youth. This pilot project focuses on culture, identity, health and wellbeing and the transfer of knowledge between old people and youth.

Barberhood was launched in 2020. The group is a collective of barber shops and barbers that come together to equip and enable:

  1. barbers to care for their own wellbeing

  2. to support the wellbeing of their customers

  3. relevant community groups to affect positive change
