RESOURCES

PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT

We believe that making good decisions starts with having access to good information.  We also believe that teachers and youth workers play an important part in delivering this knowledge to young people.

As a result of working in this space for over 20 years, we have developed the FLEP model.

Using this we have developed training sessions for mainstream providers to strengthen their engagement with Pasefika young people and their families.

Young people are still developing their communication skills, so the teacher or facilitator needs to be equipped to recognise the non-verbal cues and potentially what is shaping the young persons current view.

After many years of delivery, we have developed professional development to help you engage with young people.  We have focused on the following areas:

  • Pasifika Rainbow - helping you to understand the history and context of Pasifika gender identities

  • Working with Pacific young people - helping you to develop your confidence in engaging young people
